Meet Coach Salanger
Coach Emily Salanger has been deeply involved in lacrosse since age five, growing up in Syracuse, New York, in a family of collegiate players. Her father, a former player at UMass Amherst, coached her through youth and club organizations (Orange Crush Club), and all three siblings went on to play in college. This early environment instilled in her a lifelong love for the game and a profound appreciation for dedication and continuous effort.
That passion carried her to SUNY Geneseo, where she competed as a midfielder and draw specialist. She earned selection to the IWLCA All-Star Senior Game and First Team All-Region honors, while helping the program capture its first-ever SUNYAC championship. She left her mark on the record books, finishing her career ranking 10th all-time for goals and 7th for draw controls.
After graduating, she immediately transitioned to the sidelines as an Assistant Coach at Geneseo, where she specialized in draw team development. This experience solidified her passion for developing young lacrosse players and helping them reach their potential.
